Previously I've noticed that my sync speed has been anywhere from say, 43448kbit - 449238kbit, with arbitrary values in between. I've logged on my modem and I've noticed that it's bang on 40000kbit.
From the checker page:
I called BT who simply stated that as I was getting over my minimum speed there was nothing they would do. It just seems very strange it would be exactly 40000kbit - like it's been manually capped.
Any ideas on what this could be?
Your speed is not manually capped as there is no manual intervention as everything controlled by DLM
according to stats your attainable is 43mb and you have 40mb and well within your estimated speed range I cannot see BT doing anything unless you have a line problem like noisy line with connection dropping
Thanks for your reply.
Are you saying my sync rate of exactly 40000kbit is just coincidence?
So as a follow up question is it possible to request DLM to be taken off/reset from my line?
"Estimated Range" is kind of rubbish anyway. When I called BT when my connection was especially poor (34mbit) I was told it was OK as I was guaranteed 35Mbit.
Yeah, I didn't get it either.
After explaining the simple maths I was told
"Oh, your true minimum is 90% of your stated minimum."
Great. I'll just watch my connection speed continue to trickle down.
