Re: Constant connection drops and low speeds.

Thanks for posting the results @KieronW.

I tried calling, sorry I missed you. The test results do show a problem with the throughput so I've reported that back to wholesale and will be in touch as soon as I have any updates.

Cheers

David

Re: Constant connection drops and low speeds.

Hi @KieronW,

I tried calling today, sorry I missed you. I've just received confirmation that there is a major service fault in your area but that it should be resolved by tomorrow. Can you post back and let me know how you're getting on?

Cheers

Re: Constant connection drops and low speeds.

Hi David

Sorry for not being able to take your calls, I'm currently having problems with my phone and couldn't get it switched on over the last 3 days.

Internet hasn't been great lately, it was flawless for around 2 weeks but seems to have gone backwards, constant wireless drop outs again on all devices. I was playing Xbox last night and was getting dropping connections non stop.

Is broadband working in my area now? Referring to your post above.

I'm going to try a different channel, I will update you with the results.

Re: Constant connection drops and low speeds.

Hi @KieronW,

Thanks for posting. The service outage in your area has been resolved. I have run in depth tests on both our line and broadband connection today, you might have noticed the hub dropping. The results confirm there are no network issues. Your current bras profile is just over 67meg. You've mentioned changing the channel. Is this a wireless issue? Do the hub lights change when the drop happens? Are there any electrical devices near the hub? Does anything else happen when the drops occur? I'm going to be out of the office for a week from tomorrow but I'll make sure your case is picked up in my absence.

Cheers

David

Re: Constant connection drops and low speeds.

@KieronW I'm following up as per @DavidM's message above. I've ran a few checks on your connection and can see that there have been no drops between the exchange and your router for the last 7 days. The drops you mentioned last week are more likely to be wireless disconnections rather than a problem on the network.

Did you manage to change the wireless channel yet and has that helped?

Re: Constant connection drops and low speeds.

What are the most recommended channels for 5GHz?

It's a shame this is happening as it was fine for weeks but now everything is constantly disconnecting, this issue does seem to be more wireless related as the previous and original issue seems to be fixed ever since we saw vans at the telephone exchange.

Re: Constant connection drops and low speeds.

Hi @KieronW,

Thanks for posting. I’ve checked the connection again today and everything is fine form the network point of view so I’ll go ahead and close things off in regards to that on my side. In relation to the wireless issues have you checked the wifi help section ? Have you tried switching off the smart wireless?

Cheers

Go for the higher channels as these are the least used and not picked up by any smart wireless autoselection.
