Cumulative throughput on smarthub

Hi, we are getting BT business fibre broadband with smart hub. We will have a lot of traffic between the wired Ethernet ports for data transfers. What is the total cumulative bandwidth across all ports? Would be ideal if we got full duplex across four gigabit ports making cumulative total of 8 gigabits/second.

@Mikeymikey45

I would not recommend that you use the Smart Hub as an Ethernet switch, as you will lose all traffic if the hub restarts, which it can do quite often. It also going to put a strain on the home hub hardware, and could affect the download speed.

Use a separate Gigabit Ethernet switch, and connect it to a single port on the hub, then if the hub has a issue, you still have interconnectivity.

Even better , use a 3rd party router/modem unit.
