There's not a lot publicly available, but there have been discussions on broadband forums suggesting that banding needs to be removed by a DLM reset as it doesn't remove itself automatically.

@William_Grimsley I can confirm that what you have posted is incorrect. Banding is still removed automatically by DLM if your line is stable. Occasionally this may not work correctly and a manual reset is needed.

@smf22 and @licquorice Sorry guys they're not being handed out. The reset is done when an Openreach engineer visits after you've reported a fault.

And there's the catch22. The fault that caused the banding back in March fixed itself.

Mine took a little more effort of cutting down a tree line, but ultimately the "fault" is now gone. I've had the line not drop for as long as 5 weeks and no DLM reset was forthcoming. Stuck rigid at 34999. But I'm not complaining. Many would love to get as much as this.
