DNS Speeds and drop outs

I seem to be suffering from some pretty awful DNS routing issues on infinity 1 this evening when surfing web pages and using FTP. The issue will be familar to many.. where you try to visit a web site like google.com and its either takes ages to load, it it appears to fail to load and reloads or just fails entirely giving the impression that a web site or service is down when it actually isn't. There is some packet loss being reported too.

Has anyone else had this issues tonight?

Re: DNS Speeds and drop outs

It is a good idea to try changing the DNS & can't do any harm.

You could try & get round this issue by switching the DNS in the router to Manual with 1 of these public DNS:

Open DNS :	208.67.222.222 & 208.67.220.220
Google DNS:	8.8.8.8 & 8.8.4.4
Norton DNS:	198.153.192.40 & 198.153.194.40

Re: DNS Speeds and drop outs

Thanks,

How do I set the DNS manually on Hub6. I logged in the router, into the advanced section and then saw the DNS settings but could not see anywhere I can change this. Are they hard written in to the hardware?

Re: DNS Speeds and drop outs

They are hard wired. You would have to change the settings on your device instead.
