DSL Checker Stats Changed

The stats on the dsl checker for VDSL changed and the low downstream line rate has gone up as well as downstream handback.

How come that is the case?

Re: DSL Checker Stats Changed

Sometimes they do, mine has repeatedly, even though they're still unrealistically low.

Re: DSL Checker Stats Changed

Hi @tpatel,

They are updated when speeds in an area change, up or down.

Why do speeds in an area change?

Re: DSL Checker Stats Changed

@tpatel,

For all manor of reasons, eg  new technology, crosstalk, to name but one in each direction.

If you require a more detailed list then you will have to wait for a guru or mod.

Re: DSL Checker Stats Changed

As the temperature drops the conductivity of copper increases slightly. e.g. a copper wire with 500ohms resistance at 20 deg C would have a resistance of 630ohms at 80 deg c.

Re: DSL Checker Stats Changed

So if Temperature colder and resistance is higher connections speeds increase? Like in Winter

Re: DSL Checker Stats Changed

Lower temperature = less resistance and increased conductivity. You won't see a large leap in speeds.
