Just run the test and it says 180k which apparently is ok as the max available is 250k!
Guess I need to live with being ripped off by BT as there are no other options around here.
are you connected to the master or better the test socket? do you have other sockets apart from the master?
have toy tried the quiet line test dial 17070 option 2 should hear nothing and best with corded phone if cordless then dull hum is normal
have you removed the orange bellwire from terminal 3? I would expect better speed than you currently have for your attenuation
Something really bizarre has happened. Just did a speedtest as the line seemed a little faster and it has gone up to 1.7mb!
In my 3 years in this house it has NEVER been that fast.
What's going on???
can you post the hub stats for comparison with previous ones. btspeedtester as well if possible
It's dropped again!!!!
|Connection time||0 days, 5:38:09|
|Noise margin (Down/Up)||16.1 dB / 7.0 dB|
|Line attenuation (Down/Up)||63.5 dB / 31.5 dB|
|Output power (Down/Up)||15.4 dBm / 11.4 dBm|
|Loss of Framing (Local)||0|
|Loss of Signal (Local)||0|
|Loss of Power (Local)||0|
|FEC Errors (Down/Up)||258 / 4|
|CRC Errors (Down/Up)||33 / N/A|
|HEC Errors (Down/Up)||N/A / 1|
|Error Seconds (Local)||18|
|0 Kbps||1000 Kbps|
Max Achievable Speed
| Download speedachieved during the test was - 734 Kbps|
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 400-1000 Kbps.
Your DSL Connection Rate :928 Kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 320 Kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP Profile for your line is - 818 Kbps
|0 Kbps||320 Kbps|
Max Achievable Speed
|>Upload speed achieved during the test was - 243 Kbps|
Upstream Rate IP profile on your line is - 320 Kbps
although your connection speed is still low the stats look better and with the higher noise margin there is scope to reduce that to about 6 and that will increase your speed
as I asked before are you connected to the master or test socket? do you have other sockets apart from the master?
Yes I am connected to the master socket. It also seems ot be getting slower again!!!
do you have other sockets? if so have you tried connecting to the test socket and leaving for a few days to see if that improves your connection. it is your direct connection to the exchange
