Re: Dalkeith Exchange - BT Infinity

Just run the test and it says 180k which apparently is ok as the max available is 250k!

Guess I need to live with being ripped off by BT as there are no other options around here.

Re: Dalkeith Exchange - BT Infinity

Your speed is very low, even for your attenuation, would you like some pointers at things that may increase it? Just quick tips that may soothe the problem for now...

Re: Dalkeith Exchange - BT Infinity

are you connected to the master or better the test socket?  do you have other sockets apart from the master?

have toy tried the quiet line test   dial 17070 option 2  should hear nothing and best with corded phone  if cordless then dull hum is normal

have you removed the orange bellwire from terminal 3?  I would expect better speed than you currently have for your attenuation

Re: Dalkeith Exchange - BT Infinity

Something really bizarre has happened.  Just did a speedtest as the line seemed a little faster and it has gone up to 1.7mb!

In my 3 years in this house it has NEVER been that fast.

What's going on???

Re: Dalkeith Exchange - BT Infinity

although your connection speed is still low the stats look better and with the higher noise margin there is scope to reduce that to about 6 and that will increase your speed

as I asked before are you connected to the master or test socket?  do you have other sockets apart from the master?

Re: Dalkeith Exchange - BT Infinity

do you have other sockets?  if so have you tried connecting to the test socket and leaving for a few days to see if that improves your connection.  it is your direct connection to the exchange
