Re: Different Fiber availabilities in the same house

Ok, I'm starting to understand it now. Thanks.

Is ordering a phone line from BT the only way how to enter the BTwholesale database? Should I ask to install a new additional line? I don't see any standard BT master socket in the flat. There are only two old fashioned old phone sockets with no logo on it..

Ordering a phone line from a provider, is the only way, as it enables Openreach to build the routing.

If any changes need to be made to the sockets, that will be included as part of the installation. You will always be left with a working service. There is no need for an additional line.

BT will takeover any existing service, so I assume you are out of contract with your current provider?

Re: Different Fiber availabilities in the same house

Yes, I'm out of contract with my current provider.

If I understand that right BT is the only provider to go for if I want to get my line registered in the BTwholesale database? Or can I go for any provider who offers line only contract?

Re: Different Fiber availabilities in the same house

The BT database will only show what is available for BT customers. LLU operators have their own databases.

Re: Different Fiber availabilities in the same house

You can choose any provider, but this forum cannot help with that, as this is only a BT Retail forum., and cannot help with other providers.

You would have to ask on the forum of whichever provider you choose.

Re: Different Fiber availabilities in the same house

Ok, that's clear for me. I'm just proceeding with BT order. I'm wondering now, do I need to order phone line only to get registered to BTWholesale Database or is it ok to choose Standard Broadband and landline package from BT to get the number registered to the BTWholesale database? (And switch to fiber when the database is updated..)

Because that's what I did one year ago - ordered Standard Broadband and Anytime calls package from a different provider, but the number is still not registered in BTwholesale database anyway and I can't order fiber because of this..

Is the number going to be registered if I place the order with BT now?

Re: Different Fiber availabilities in the same house

It is up to you if you order juat a phone line or phone & ADSL. Within 10 days of your service going live the database should be updated and you will be able to order fibre.
