Do these stats look right? - Very slow Fibre (5meg) possible phone fault?

Hello,

New to forums but read many times! I have just had fibre installed and the download speeds are around 5 meg. After reading the forums I have decided to check the HH5 help page and have pasted the details below:

3. Firmware version:Software version 4.7.5.1.83.8.173.1.6 (Type A) Last updated Unknown
4. Board version:BT Hub 5A
5. VDSL uptime:0 days, 08:34:05
6. Data rate:512 / 5768
7. Maximum data rate:519 / 6227
8. Noise margin:6.3 / 6.1
9. Line attenuation:0.0 / 35.5
10. Signal attenuation:

0.0 / 32.4

Does the noise seem high and the data rate is only at 5768 hence the download rate.

Any help would be great.

Thanks!

If you use this checker it will tell what cabinet you are on and what services it can receive.

http://www.dslchecker.bt.com/adsl/adslchecker.welcome

If it does not show a cabinet number it will be because you are on an Exchange Only line which will mean you can not get Infinity because you are not connected to a cabinet, instead you are connected directly to the exchange.

Run this test including the further diagnostics and post the results  http://speedtest.btwholesale.com/

Edited: Pictures in post below.

This gives me a Cabinet number at the top as well as a name - edited out as it had phone number on it.

I can't see or access the images you have posted unfortunately.

Did the intallation engineer show you any speed tests before he left or was it an in and straight out job probably done by a contractor.

The noise margin is fine.

If you can't post the images just give the Range A and B details , your up/down speed and the IP profiles.

Given that your noise margin is fine it looks very much like a botched installation. You will need to ring BT to get an engineer out - they may insist on waiting for the 10 day period but I would keep insisting - if no luck the mods should be able to help. I would try on monday just in case a miracle occurs and the connection improves as you are still in the 10 day training period.

When things are sorted you may want to downgrade to Infinity 1 if the speeds are below 40mbps.
