Downspeed improved up dropped ?

Been having issues for a while with slower than normal download speed used to get 68 dropped to 40-50 down and 14 up, Few days ago started to get a few disconnections during the day so reconnected the smarthub so I could use the BT fault system, No fault was found but my speed changed to 72 down 2 up ?? Why has the upload dropped so much when I used to get a constant 14+ ??

Any help will be greatly appreciated

Re: Downspeed improved up dropped ?

I used ethernet connection for speed test

Havent got a corded phone but on wireless phone it was a bit crackely,

I checked the outside cable last week and got up a ladder to check where it connects to the house as a bit of rubbish had blown up there and if i touch the cable it disconnects the Internet connection tried this 2-3 times and got the same result so not sure if this is causing an issue ?

Restarted the modem as internet froze

Re: Downspeed improved up dropped ?

if you have crackle on quiet line test with corded phone then I would recheck test from test socket with filter and if still hear crackle then report phone fault not broadband to 151 and get engineer visit  you could mention to engineer about the outside line problem when he is there
