Hi.
BT has offered me a good deal to upgrade from Halo 2 Superfast Fibre 67mb to Halo 2 Ultrafast Fibre 250 300mb. They said an engineers visit was necessary (£50), I stated I had the Smart Hub 2 but they said I would need a new hub and setting up. Can anyone confirm if this is correct?
Also on checking the availability of ultrafast fibre broadband on their website it says it's unavailable when I put my phone number in but that I can have superfast.
Any clarification would be appreciated.

Solved! Go to Solution.
No new hub needed, SH2 is good for Ultrafast.
Are you sure that its not FTTP as its 250-300Mb?
If that is the case, then you would need a SH2 with a WAN port, and the engineer would fit an optical modem.
According to the BT Broadband availability checker FTTP isn't available to me.
But presumably G.Fast is.
Update. I have just managed to contact BT and I was misled, I retain my Smart 2 hub but have to have a module put in my local cabinet to achieve the speeds. Then a home visit to check I am getting the correct speeds.
Thanks for the input.
