Enhancement of the local fibre network

Go to solution
Hi, I have Infinity 2 which is connected to the original & only fibre cab outside our local exchange in Montgomery. As I am at some distance my download speed is compromised to about half of max. Recently BT have been installing a new fibre network, including work outside my house on our estate. How can I find out if it is intended to provide closer access to the fibre network and thus improve my B/band performance?.....trying to chat on line with the customer help desk wasn’t very succesful, they didn’t seem to understand what I was asking..... Maybe I will be upgraded automatically, not at all....or do I need to ask?....

If an infill cabinet is being provided closer to you, you will either be transfereed to it automatically or not at all. You are not able to influence that decision, it will be down to network topography. If your speed is only half of the maximum for Infinity2, I suggest you downgrade to Infinity1 to save money at next renewal.
