........but no one will offer me fibre internet ???
I have contacted many ISPs (and bt whole sale) and also used their line checkers to see what I can get, all estimate the same, I get about 16mbit/s.
What's the hold up ?
This is my line speed:
can you post results if you enter your phone number remember to delete phone number https://www.btwholesale.com/includes/adsl/main.html
"There is no data available for this number. This could be either because it is not a BT line or it is a new BT number that has just been provided. Most new numbers will appear on the checker 24 hours after BT has installed the line."
Do you get anything if you enter your postcode http://fttc-check.alc.im/
Looks like your line is EO exchange only and if so you can't at present get fibre. You need to be connected to a street cabinet. Openreach have installed a few new cabinets outside exchanges but that is st end of queue after rollout plans are complete. Don't see it anytime soon
I talked with my current ISP and they said I am definitely connected to a green street cabinet and not Exchange Only.
Then you need to go back to your ISP and ask them to supply fibre. The second checker for postcode suggested you were EO with only 3% possibility your were on cab 5
So for me to be exchange only, that map marker will point to my exchange and NOT a green street cabinet ?
I think the red maker on the map is the exchange. The results for postcode gave 2 possibilites either EO or 3% possibility you are connected to cab 5
