Hi guys i have one of these master sockets
Looking down on it from the top, it looks like theres three or four extra faceplates behind the front one it. Why is this ?
Solved! Go to Solution.
It's modular, and allows a VDSL filter to be inserted between the layers.
There is the back box which fixes the whole assembly to the wall, an intermediate plate (to which the external phone line is terminated), a filter plate (which provides the VDSL socket at the top) and then there is the lower phone socket plate where you plug the standard phone in.
If you no longer needed the VDSL service then they would take the phone socket plate off, remove the filter plate, and put the phone socket plate back onto the intermediate plate.
it looks like this and there is a back box screwed to wall
