FTTC Broadband IP Profile

Go to solution

My daughter and I both have fibre broadband and are connected to the same Cabinet. My daughter lives 800 metres from the cabinet and I live on the same street just 100 metres further away i.e I am 900 metres from the cabinet.

My line has a speed of 17.7 to 23.7 Mbs and I typically get 18.5 Mbs. My daughters line has a speed of 46 to 60.8 Mbs with a guaranteed minimum speed of 35 Mbs.

I have spoken to BT retail and BT Business who have both told me that my maximum speed is 19.3 Mbs. Other ISP's have quoted the same minimum and maximum figures i.e around 18 Mbs

Why am I unable to get a similar speed to my daughter, surely the speed should not drop off by 19Mbs for just an extra 100m of copper wire

In order to find out what services and speed range yo should be getting, please enter your phone number into this form.
Broadband availability checker

Please remember to edit out your phone number before you post the results.

Then, if you have a HH5 can you go to hub manager then trobleshooting then helpdesk and post lines 1-12

Could you please post the results from the BT Wholesale speed checker, including the further diagnostics.

Why is BT Business involved, are you a business user?
