No idea what you mean when you say your mother "is to go round neighbours selling a fibre connection to them to prompt Openreach into upgrading the cabinet size, or put in an additional cabinet." Is your mother an Internet Provider Company?
Unless there a massive uptake of FTTC ie hundreds more subscribers to make it commercially viable to Openreach they will not be motivated to do anything that is not already in their current plans.
All she can do is wait until either the cabinet is upgraded or until a person presently on VDSL moves away and their slot in the cabinet becomes available to the next person on this list.
Thanks for the reply. What I mean is how do Openreach know there is significant demand if all communications providers are turning away new FTTC customers? All she wanted to do is go to BT as a united front and say 'I have 350 people who all want fibre who can't get it, any chance this could speed up Openreach's decision to upgrade/add a new cabinet. Does that idea have any value, or is there anything else she could do?
