FTTC

Hi so if now fibre 2 average speed is 68mbps is that the maximum the connection/line can offer or there is room for upgrade from bt in the future?

Lets say future speed upgrades for free or the line can't handle more?

I got FTTC and seems like fibre 2 is the fastest available package and fttp on demand with 330 mbps of maximum.

Re: FTTC

An avaerage speed is just that, it is the mean averave of everyone on that tier. The actual speed anyone will get depends on the distance from the cabinet.

FTTC  VDSL currently tops out a 80Mb but could go to 100Mb, G.Fast is 330Mb. FTTP currently tops out at 1Gb but BT sells it as a 900Mb connection.

Openreach are now fitting Nokia ONT's which can support 1Gb symmetrical connections.

DOCSIS 3.1 (Virgin) is currently 500Mb but the network could be quickly configured to give a max of 10GB.
