FTTP All devices keep disconnecting and reconnecting intermittently.

I have fibre to the home and all devices keep disconnecting and reconnecting intermittently.

This applies to wifi and wired devices. The hub has been changed from a 6 to smart hub 2.

The light on the hub always stays blue, and the log shows a continuous DSL connection.

Smart hub is turned off as is BT-WIFI.

I can go hours without a problem, or minutes. no pattern to it.

Fibre to the home FTTP, does not use DSL, so are you sure that is what you have, and not FTTC which uses the phone line?

Is it this hub you are using, as this is an FTTP hub with the RED WAN socket.

I have a fibre optic cable to the 4 port modem.

Does  it still do it when you use the home hub 6?

Have you tried a factory reset of the smart hub 2?

It was doing it when I had the Hub 6. Upgraded to a Smart Hub 2 and I still had the same problem. Had engineers visit and resets done.

All I can suggest is that you speak to the FTTP team on 0800 587 4787 and report the issue to them.

Either that, or try a third party router to see if the problem is still there.

There are plenty of wireless routers available.

I was not aware of an Openreach ONT with four ports, they normally just have LAN1 and LAN2 (unused) and a TEL1 port.

I assume this is what your installation looks like?

I was assuming it was a four Ethernet port ONT, which is why I wanted to double check that there was not confusion with the four ports on the smart hub.

In that case, only the FTTP team can help with this.

That's the one. The optic plug shown is liable to fail. The box is not upside down, it just the picture will not load correctly, and yes I have rotated it. Even tried sideways!

How about this?

Could be a dirty fibre (do not attempt to clean it yourself), or a microbend somewhere.

I assume the Openreach engineer checked the optical power level with a light meter, to make sure it was within the correct power limits?
