Re: FTTP Infinity Speeds

And I definitely do not have a Ferrari πŸ™‚

It was already installed in the house when I moved in last month, but I didn't see the need to pay for 330MBps - bit of an overkill if you ask me for two people !

Re: FTTP Infinity Speeds

Have you split the SSID's so you can select if you're device is on 5GHz or 2.4GHz?

Re: FTTP Infinity Speeds

@Gribley

You're confusing FTTPoD with GEA FTTP unfortunately.

Re: FTTP Infinity Speeds

Make sure you have turned off "Smart Set Up" on the Homehub. See link how to do that.

http://bt.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/44328/~/switching-smart-setup-on-and-off-on-the-bt-ho...

You could also try giving the 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz frequencies different SSids. Just add a 5 to the end of the 5Ghz SSid so you know which is which. Check the 5 GHz Sync with 2.4 GHz: is set to NO.

Once you have done that "forget" the connection on your devices and then restart them and log onto both SSids.

See this link

http://bt.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/44798/~/i-have-problems-connecting-5ghz-and-dual-band...

You could try downloading and running inSSider. This will show you the wireless channels that your Homehub/router is transmitting on as well as the surrounding networks. You want to take a note of the channels in use and change your Homehub onto a channel that is not being used. Channel 13 is often the least congested on the 2.4Ghz. The 5 Ghz is not so congested so you could leave it on "Smart Wireless"

See Link how to do that.

http://bt.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/14094/~/how-do-i-change-the-wireless-channel-on-my-bt...

See link for inSSIDer. Use the free version.

Re: FTTP Infinity Speeds

Thanks both

The 2.4 and 5GHz channels both have different SSID names already.  Smart Set up on my HH5 was already off. Wirelss speeds on both of them are near enough the same.

This is the channel set up around here. I am on Channel 11 at the top.

I've no other electrical devices set up near my Hub.

Re: FTTP Infinity Speeds

2.4 on 13 - but has made no difference to wireless speeds.

Yes, I'm also transmitting 5GHz but that SSID is not showing on InSSider for some reason

Re: FTTP Infinity Speeds

Maybe the PC with Inssider on doesn't support 5GHz

Have you thought about getting a USB wireless-ac dongle? That should run at up to 1300 Mbps as the HH5 supports wireless-ac.
