FTTP Junction Box
I have recently upgraded to FTTP and yesterday Openreach came to initially install the junction box, the engineer knocked on the door and mentioned he was installing the box and was just letting us know.
I’ve gone out today and it’s been put in a very random location, I assumed he would install it where the current line comes in the house. It’s directly behind my kitchen cabinets / kitchen tiles so don’t want them drilling through there.
how close to the external junction box does my internal box need to be installed? Essentially I’m asking can the internal box be installed a few meters away from the external box?
I have no idea why they engineer didn’t ask etc.

Re: FTTP Junction Box
The internal box (ONT) can be as much as 30metres from the external box (CSP).

Re: FTTP Junction Box
Thank you, so can they carry on the external cabling to the point I choose and then go through the wall into the house? I just want it to come through the wall a few meters to be in a separate room, probably only 5 meters of external cable then through the wall where I can plug everything in.
