I am experiencing relatively long pings (ca 29ms) and low speed (ca 29mpbs download, <10 mpbs upload) when normally they are higher. I ran the standard test in the BT account and it says my connection to the cabinet is ca 49 mpbs.
The "Wholesale" test page won't load, tried several times - time out.
I cannot find the other tests that are normally recommended on the forum, sorry.
I tried the service checker, no issues in my area apparently, but I can see there are fault elsewhere.
I guess it might be to do with the windy conditions (?) but just wanted to double check...
Sorry, it's definitely FTTP, what I meant is that BT's broadband checker shows my connection to BT (...exchange...???) at ca 49 mpbs, hope that makes more sense.
Yes I did, none pertaining to my landline's area.
Then there may be an issue with the optical power level being low, due to a fault on the external network, or a fault at the far end equipment.
All you can do is to report the slow speed.
I assume you are testing using a direct Ethernet connection to the home hub, and the home hub has a direct Ethernet connection to the ONT?
Ahh. Yes, exactly.
It's a bit better now but still hovering around 30 mpbs download, 10 mpbs upload
It is possible there are problems and although engineers do work over the weekend no service updates are sent out after 3.00pm Friday in written form (usually M/S office doc.).
I'll have a look in the morning for you once the first one comes out (after 9.00am).
