So the best ever engineer came to my house. Honestly this is one top guy.
tried to get a hoist to replace the drop line and for whatever reason that wasn't happening. Turns out the pole was climbable though.
as he was on his own and my line goes accross the road he had to have another person. Jby sheer coincidence another openreach engineer came up my road. He happily agreed to help. Couple of hours later and my drop line has been replaced.
obviously early days but the quiet line test is quiet thus far.
I can honestly say I have never been happier with the efforts of any person fixing anything at my property than I am of the Openreach guys today. Proper ott efforts 👍
I posted the image attached earlier in this thread but can't remember the link to check again. Can someone post the link for me.
thank you all so much.
Ping is 20 ms, used to be 10
down = 55mbps = 68-69mbps
but guessing that may improve over days else the engineer said it's possible to increase the sensitivity of the line now everything is new whatever that means
Firstly thank you for all your help in resolving my phone line issues. Openreach came yesterday, confirmed my drop wire was badly decayed and replaced it.
My speed is still down a touch.
Previously my line was rated at:
72mbps, I got 68-70mbps down
Latency (ping) was 10ms
Now apparently my line is rated at:
65mbps, I am currently getting around 56mbps down
Current latency (Ping) is 20ms
Will my line return to it’s former performance which I hope so by itself or does some profile or something need resetting or can my line now everything this end is renewed be made more sensitive?
My line has been up and completely stable since the drop wire was replaced.
Many, many thanks
It should return to normal on its own, but it may take a couple of weeks.
In addition to the above using dsl checker my line used to hit the in the 'Clean' range
now it's hitting speeds listed in the 'Inpacked' range
I confess to not knowing what this means but surely I should get what I had before now everything is renewed right?
which exchange and cab are you on -you deleted from dslchecker
