Fibre Help

Hi all
A family member is currently with Talk-Talk as their provider (no longer in contract) and there service is pitiful.
The BB has not hit greater than 1mb on download for nearly 2mths - talk talk state no problems on line or equipment.
As they seem to be paying over the odds for the service (if you can call it that), I suggested them to go back to BT.
The cabinet has a Fibre sticker on it & their neighbours are enjoying speeds in the 20mb's+.

However, they rang the BT line to be told no room in the cabinet and there now at a loss what to do.
They really want to jump on to fibre but unsure what to do next.

The dslchecker shows
VDSL Rang A & B - Waiting List
Everything else - Available (2-6 downstream)

Postcode WS12a4SH
Exchange is HEDNESFORD and it's cabinet 7

Any ideas as what to do next so they can get Fibre?

Thanks in advance

Re: Fibre Help

All they can do is wait and keep checking until the capacity of the cabinet is upgraded.

Re: Fibre Help

Thanks for quick response.
Would it be more beneficial to switch to BT anyway (upto 6mb) and take it from there?

Re: Fibre Help

It will make no odds.  The space on the cabinet is allocated to ISPs on a first come first served basis.

If you move to BT and take "normal" broadband you may get 6Mbps but if all they were getting with TT was 1Mbps that is probably more than likely all they will get with BT because they all use the same copper wires from the exchange to the house.
