Re: Fibre Query - IP8 4HP

As you can see from the screenshot of your neighbours number/address, there is a waiting list for fibre broadband. It means that all ports on the cabinet are in use and until either capacity is increased (if there are spare card slots that can be populated) or a customer ceases their line fibre broadband is unavailable. Your line shows as available on the checker as you already have fibre broadband.

There is no 'Waiting list' by the way, it is a question of first come first served. Keep checking and place an order as soon as it says available and dive in.

Re: Fibre Query - IP8 4HP

Thanks, I had not spotted that as I’ve not picked that up when comparing the two results. Obviously what BT told me was correct as things stand. Every day is a learning day. So does that mean no other provider can provide fibre broadband in my road yet or is it just BT haven’t got any slots currently ? And if neighbouring roads are showing BT fibre availability I assume that means those roads are on another cabinet with free BT slots ?

Re: Fibre Query - IP8 4HP

There is no such thing as BT slots. No ISP has any allocation of ports in a cabinet.
