Fibre optic cable

Go to solution

Hello, I need to reposition my BT open reach white box inside my house.

So I need  to replace the fibre cable from the box on the side of my house to the box inside my house.

Where can I get this cable from?

Thanks

As far as I am aware you should not even think about doing that yourself. You will need to arrange for Openreach to do that.

You can' t  buy the cable. If you need to move the ONT you will have to get Openreach in to do it.

Sounds like Legacy FTTP so would be an EZ Bend Fibre Cable.

Openreach purchase these from a manufacturer in Mexico.

In order to joint the Fibre Cable you would need a Fusion Splicer and a Cleaver.

A good quality Fibre Cleaver will set you back about £150

A good quality Splicer like a Sumitomo Type - 71C like the ones Openreach use will set you back Retail £5000-£6000

Oh, you’ll also need a Fibre Stripper, Splice Protectors and Fibre Cleaning Fluid.
