Fibre speed

Hi i have bt infinity 2, was getting speeds in high sixties, modem started dropping connection and speed has dropped. Engineer out last week he changed modem, this one rebooted every 2 to 3 hours. BT sent a new one, but in the mean time i borrowed a 3rd party modem as i couldn't use my service. Speed is 48997, will this speed go back up or do i need what they call a boost engineer.

Re: Fibre speed

With your noise margin at the reduced setting of 4.4db normally 6db you are getting according to stats faster that the attainable speed

can you enter your phone number and post results remember delete number.  https://www.btwholesale.com/includes/adsl/main.html

Is there any line noise. Dial 17070 option 2 should be silent and best with corded phone

Re: Fibre speed

your attainable is based on standard noise margin of 6db but as your noise marhin is lower at 4.4db givving you slightly faster speed   unlikely BT will help as you are currently within expected range but at bottom end

which exchange and cab are you on?

Re: Fibre speed

Why has the speed dropped and not recovered back to mid to high 60s. BT says after faulty modem they will also do a follow up call to see if speed goes up still waiting. Will dslam put speed back up.
