Fibre with Halo - way off minimum speeds?

Go to solution

I recently upgraded to Fibre with Halo.  My estimated download speed was 41-67Mbps, and my 'Stay Fast Guarantee' speed was 32Mbps.

I am sitting right next to the hub, have tested in 3 times and my download speed has been between about 9 and 13.  This seems very poor and I am wondering what to do....formal complaint, send for an engineer, back out of the contract quickly during the cooling off period.

All advice most welcome....particularly as don't think I stand a chance of getting through to BT on the phone any time soon given higher than usual call rates/Coronavirus.

Re: Fibre with Halo - way off minimum speeds?

I logged onto the hub.....not really sure what I am looking at - says everything is operating fine.  Fyi, BT's own speed checker says I am only getting 12.2Mbps from their Exchange to the house....so that would seem to be where the problem lies and is well-under the 32 minimum they 'guaranteed'.

I get the feeling from other posts that there will be 'weasel words' they will fall back on.....and this is really an issue for trading standards as BT are NOT using plain or accurate English in their sales patter.
