I have the original Ultrafast Hub/Smart Hub 1 and received the new Smart Hub 2 yesterday.
I simply removed the old Smart Hub, and connected the new Smart Hub 2, patching in Port 1 on my Openreach Modem to Port 4 of the new Smart Hub 2 (on my previous Smart Hub, this was labeled as WLAN).
All I get is a flashing purple light.
If I reconnected my old Smart Hub, it turns blue instantly.
What am I doing wrong??

is there a port on SH2 marked as WAN?
then that is why it won't work with a modem as designed to be conencted to broadband without modem you would need to request a SH2 wit WAN port
Or simply remove the Openreach modem and connect the SH2 directly to line.
@licquorice as the op has Ultrafast (FTTP) they'll need the correct version of the Hub 2 so it can be connected to the Openreach ONT.
Sorry about that @gdsouza if you give the fibre team a call on 0800 587 4787 they'll be able to arrange to correct Hub to be sent. They're open 8am to 9pm Mon-Fri, 8am to 8pm Saturday and 9am to 6pm Sunday.
