If the original point was , if BT make a mistake and offer something cheaper than it should be ( or free in this case ) , do they have to honour that mistake ? , and I believe the answer to that is 'No'.

Some company's may honour a mistake in pricing, if they feel the positive publicity outweighs the cost , but it would be their choice, not something they are legally obliged to do....obviously if they contact you, pointing out the error, give you the 'real price' and the choice of  accepting that real price or finding a new provider , that's all you can realistically expect....obviously you could consult a lawyer, but reading similar posts on other 'consumer' forums, that legally seems to be the case
