Free upgrade to BT Infinity

Hi,

I just received a letter from BT offering me a free upgrade to BT Infinity.

It says :-

'We are currently upgrading our broadband service in your area to make it faster. You will be upgraded to BT Infinity fibre optic broadband for no extra charge at a time that suits you. There will be no change to your existing contract term or charges - the amount you pay will remain the same.

It then quotes a phone number to ring and a code to use in order to arrange an engineer visit.

Anyone else seen this?

I am currently on Broadband option 3 (unlimited downloads) I therefore assume that I will be put on the equivalent service with Infinity.

Sounds too good to be true, any thoughts?

How much are you paying for your broadband at the moment?

Re: Free upgrade to BT Infinity

Currently paying £14.60 a month line rental

And £13.25 per month for BB Option 3 and  Unlimited evening & Weekend calls.

As you are on the old broadband package (which BT don't supply to new customers anymore) , then you are not entitled for the free upgrade as Infinity is from £18 per month.

Re: Free upgrade to BT Infinity

So why have I received a letter containing this offer? Presumably BT know what tariff I am on at present, I think a phone call is in order to confirm the details

The letter is from a 3rd party and not from BT direct.

Ok, Just spoken to BT and they confirm the price I am paying for option3 Broadband and that the offer of free upgrade to Infinity is valid at the price I am paying now.

Ratty, I've already mentioned this letter on the forums. It is free, rubble is allowed this, but read on

It started with a call - http://community.bt.com/t5/Other-BB-Queries/Hmm-I-ve-just-had-a-call-from-BT/m-p/676574#M34516

The migration is free

There is no contract renewal/extension to the current contract.

Depending on your current deal (price), there is a good chance that there will be an increase AFTER the existing contract expires as you would be on Infinity and so far, the minimum I could get it for is £17.25pm
