From the initial post there is no Ethernet switch just a new Build with the Ethernet panel installed when built and cables running from panel to the various locations within the home

Hi there.

Yes that is correct. The house cabling ( previously installed) comes to a cupboard, but is not connected to a network switch.

I guess I am trying to ask if the ONT to WAN connection on a BT router has different wiring to standard 5e Lan cabling in the house ? Do I need to change the connector wiring or rewire ?

See message 6, the sockets need to be fully wired to GbE standard.
