Full Fibre 100 with BT Halo 1 normal available download speed will be 150 Mbps

Hi I have just moved to bt Full Fibre 100 with BT Halo 1

on my BT web page it states:-

Normal available speeds
Your normal available download speed will be 150 Mbps
Your normal available upload speed will be 30 Mbps.
I apprechiate that this is an unusally busy time for broadband users.
But MY line syncs at 1000mbps

and when I test with The BT tester I get 130 down and 30 up.
So were am I losing the 20meg ? is my profile set to 130 meg down ?

Re: Full Fibre 100 with BT Halo 1 normal available download speed will be 150 Mbps

FTTP will always sync at 1000/1000

You lose some speed due to overheads when doing speed tests.

If you want to check your actual throughput download a large file. You should be seeing something 17-19MB/s download.

Can also check something like Fast.com

Download speed does not mean throughput. It is the connection speed as explained in the T's & C's.

Re: Full Fibre 100 with BT Halo 1 normal available download speed will be 150 Mbps

I have a similar issue. I live in an FTTP new build house. When we moved in, we were on Superfast Fibre 3, which was 200/20 download/upload. We used to get that speed, sometimes even more, 24/7. We then moved to Ultrafast 1 in December, which was 140/30, and this was the speed we got. We have now been moved onto Fibre 100, which is supposedly 150/30, but we still only get 140/30. Given that we easily got 200 on our previous package, we should definitely be getting 150 on this package. Hardly anyone on our estate uses FTTP, as most people have gone with Virgin due to price.
