G.Fast Speed dropping

Hi

I need some help I have been with G.fast since June and everything has been fine, the speed gradually increased till I was getting 119Mbps dowload and 22Mbps upload and 5.4ms ping which I have been chuffed with but its been a week or so now the download speed has dropped off to 87mbps and the upload and ping has been the same.

Last week I first did the check my speed through the hub and did the reset the hub and leave it 30secs and turn back on and the speed went back up so the website registered it as everything was ok but with a hour it dropped off again to 87mbps ๐Ÿ˜”

So at the weekend I went further with the speed check this time and went through to the disconnect the WIFI attached items and then remove the LAN attached items and the BT reports came back as there was a problem and it wasn't my end or my exchange but something else and hopefully it will rectify itself. 

Anyone know what it could be or ideas why its dropping off.

Welcome @SdG1,

Thanks for taking the time to post on the Community, sorry to hear that you are experiencing slow speeds.

G.Fast is a specialist product and not something that the MOD team would be able to take in and help you with however I noticed that you mentioned the fault wasn't at your end. I take it that you have reported the fault to us, were you ever told what would happen next or what way was the fault left?

I'm just worried that it sounds like your fault is going nowhere.

Hi Matt,

Thanks for the quick reply I have just checked my BT account and it is saying this. and when I select the view fault status it comes up with the second picture.

Hi @SdG1 thanks for checking that and sorry but it looks like your fault has been closed. Please call and speak with the G.fast faults team on 0800 800 151 and they will be able to get a fault opened and check everything for you to get your speed back.

Just a quick but big update.

I called BT yesterday and managed to get a appointment for today and the engineer did a bit of checking and has sorted it.

So big thanks to the BT engineer, JohnC2 and Matt-S.
