I'm having alot of problems with BT trying to install my broadband according to the dsl checker I can recieve the new G.Fast service also on openreach also on ee websites

I've had an engineer come round he said I was to far away I'm 418 meters from the cabinet in cable length terms.

My question is why everyone is saying I can have this service but I can't get it can anyone shed any light on this?

Re: G.fast

Probably because the figures you see in the tables are not strictly accurate as such, they're based on percentile calculations.

As with the engineer visit ... his measurements using either laptop mounted specialist software or a JDSU meter will tell the truth.

If the engineers report was indeed telling the truth then anyone less than 500mtrs distance from the cabinet is able to get G.Fast.

OP ring the dedicated FTTP team (they also deal with G.Fast) on 0800 587 4787.

Re: G.fast

Perhaps worth the call ... but I suspect especially with G.fast there'll be some line quality considerations perhaps.
