Re: Guaranteed Minimum Speed Reduction

Hi @Burnside5 ,

For a development of that size, provided the developer has done the right thing he should have contacted Openreach to install FTTP.   Here in Cambridgeshire it has been a condition of getting planning permission for several years.

So that would not affect your FTTC.

Re: Guaranteed Minimum Speed Reduction

I think the issue is that although it’s a large development it is split between 3 different developers with each building around 40 homes, with neither individually large enough to warrant FTTP? I know that a larger development at the other end of the village does have FTTP but we are stuck with FTTC

Re: Guaranteed Minimum Speed Reduction

Hi @Burnside5 ,

I think the cut off is 30 so they COULD all be obliged to get the infrastructure installed.

I'm sure one of the gurus will be along shortly to correct me if I am wrong.

Re: Guaranteed Minimum Speed Reduction

Developments of 30+ homes or more get FTTP installed for free, less than that was thousands but that was recently revised and much, much cheaper now.

Will I have to pay to get broadband infrastructure installed?

What will I have to contribute?
Nothing – we’ll install Fibre to the Premises (FTTP) for free.

Residential developments with less than 30 plots

What will I have to contribute?
We’ll build copper or fibre to the cabinet (FTTC) infrastructure for free. We only build fibre to the premises (FTTP) technology for free at sites with less than 30 plots if it’s cheaper than copper or fibre to the cabinet (FTTC) (we’ll decide this once we look at your registration information).
