Having apparently got into a relatively benign pattern of a single OpenRG reboot on my HH5 every two weeks (pretty much to the minute) I see I had three in the early hours of this morning - at 01:28, then almost exactly an hour later, and then almost exactly three hours after that. And during the course of these, a new file was downloaded: filename 5a.1.10-bundle5app etc. Downloaded but apparently not installed.
Whether that means new firmware will be automatically installed tonight - jumping straight from version 1.6 to 1.10 - remains to be seen. (A dummy version 1.7 was downloaded in January but never installed.) Or maybe this is another test of something or other.
The relative regularity of these OpenRG reboots does seem to make it clear that these aren't spontaneous reactions to a sudden deterioration in line conditions or similar.
So you got the file too. I assume there's no evidence of it being installed yet and that your firmware version hasn't changed.
Yes - "hopefully" - assuming new firmware makes changes for the better!
There are those who reckon all the OPenRG reboot fun and games originated with the introduction of the 1.6 firmware, although I'm not convinced about that.
Well I've just checked my HH5 and can confirm I have received this file but attempts to force an upgrade via a reboot using the web browser and a hard reboot using the button on the rear have been unsuccessful.

Maybe over thinking things :
What if there is no fault due to HH5 being designed/programmed to "call home" regularly ?
At the moment I'm still not conviced to go back using the HH5, even if stops dialing home or what ever else it does.
The Unlocked openreach Modem* combined with even a basic router has been great.
*(as recommend by the good people on here as HH5 fix)
