HH5 and openreach in newbuild

Go to solution
I've just moved into a newbuild flat and in the store cupboard are two open reach boxes that were pre installed prior to moving in...not sure what they are.

Anyway i chose bt as they were the only provider that covered this area and i got bt infinity 2 package.

Recieved my HH5 today and not really sure what i need to do with the open reach boxes that were pre installed on the store cupboard wall?

Do i ignore them and just use the HH5 like normal?

Heres a picture of the openreach boxes

Thats a FTTP (Fibre To The Premises) installation. You will still need the home hub 5 to connect to the fibre modem.

You could use a long Ethernet cable, or wireless.

If that is too far, then there are some solutions here.

I mean connect the homehub 5 with an ethernet cable to the phoneline socket next to the openreach box, using a splitter...then where my desktop is (another room away from the openreach box), get another splitter and plug it into the phone socket in the room where my desktop is and plug the ethernet from the splitter directly into my desktop will that not work?

the hub must be connected by ethernet to the openreach modem and the hub connected to the PC you cannot use the phone sockets to  connect they are voice only  connections
