Re: HH5 connection issues once again.

Well, that's synced at full speed 80/20.

Are you using Netflix on a wireless connection?

Re: HH5 connection issues once again.

I am using an ethernet run under the floor to a network switch then distrobuted throughout the downstairs.

When it drops out I look at the router and the blue streak is flashing and the hub stats show a new uptime of mins/seconds.

I have checked everything I can at my end.

I will reset this new hub later and see if it improves but I have zero confidence at the moment.

Re: HH5 connection issues once again.

Sorry I should add every item is hardwired, apart from phones/ipads.

Re: HH5 connection issues once again.

You could always get a new router and flog the HH5 at auction.

Re: HH5 connection issues once again.

Agree Ray about not using the hub

The main reason is my security cameras.....

Barry:

The unlocked modems either eci/r or hg612 3b and asus ac68u seem a very popular set up on here.

Thanks k you for the advice on modem/router change but I'm not buying one on principle

pippinc:

Stick to them and be at the mercy of your ISP.  The choice is of course yours.p:

Ray & security cameras (bt issued?) & other requirements.

Another option is to request a boost engineer and accept the £130 ish +vat  bill charge if no fault is found on the line as the hh5 has already been replaced.

Re: HH5 connection issues once again.

The simplest - and free - way to check whether the homehub router is at fault, is to temporarily remove the router; plug your PC ethernet cable directly into the BT Openreach modem; and then run the ppp layer directly on your PC..

Configuration like this:

(For Vista, from http://windows.microsoft.com/en-gb/windows-vista/create-a-pppoe-connection-to-the-internet )
