HH5 restarting?

for the last couple of weeks, my HH5 has been restarting at least twice a week. Not sure what's going on. It's really annoying working on something and then all of the sudden you have no connection... is this something BT does and I have no control of or is the flipping HH broken again?

Re: HH5 restarting?

Hi

Unfortunately its a common issue with the hh5 with its updates ect knocking the line out of sync. Openreach Modems or a non-bt all in one is the noted fix if the line shows no faults.

Wrote this on another hh5 which might be useful ?

"The HH5 can do still do all updates it needs but the openreach modem says soildly connected so the dlm  doesn't cap the line or think there is a fault.

The openreach modem doesn't allow the HH5 disconnect the line but you still get the latest software  updates for bt infinity services.

If you don't want any updates at all , you need an unlocked modem so you can disable the bt-updater. Ray  & the others know alot more about configurations ect.

The advangte of using the HH5 with the openreach modem is every thing "just works" even the tv box thingy which can be difficuit to set up on non-bt routers.

The HH5 seems pretty good  when used as just a wifi router :smileyhappy:  Its the modem software part of the hh5 that other more knowledgeable posters like pippincp  think the trouble spot is."
