I have been living in my current house for 10 years, and our telephone exchange has not been upgraded or made any changes to for a very long time, the hathern exchange does not allow LLC so i cannot go with any broadband provider who tries to offer a semi decent package as they cannot touch the exchange untill BT do something with it. to my dismay even though i live in Loughborough i find out that my exchange for infinity is also going to be attached to hathern, even though 200ft down the road i could have the service i want with a pretty **bleep** good connection too.
Instead BT insist on building cable through multitude of fields and nothinginess to give us the service.... where as if they just extended the range of the loughborough exchange 200-500 ft it would reach just about everyone in loughborough area.
This is incredibly frustrating for us and we have to wonder why is the hathern change so ignored...

What's LLC when its at home?
And what exactly do these other ISP's need BT Wholesale to do to the Exchange?
Oh right, yeah.
Still would like to know what exactly BT Wholesale need to do to the Exchange for other ISP's to provide LLU services. Although I doubt they have any specific information, just something they heard from a friend of a friend who worked for BT in 1976...
