Re: Home Hub 5 and dropped connections

If you still have the ECI modem and HH3 then it's easy to prove your point.

Re: Home Hub 5 and dropped connections

Hi, I have the same issue with the HH5 disconnecting randomly for no apparent reason.  I put the old ECI modem and HH3 back in place and found the line was far more stable with no disconnects.

Re: Home Hub 5 and dropped connections

I've only been using the HH5 for around a month or so and my ECI modem and HH3 could hold the connection for over 2 months without an IP change at all.

Re: Home Hub 5 and dropped connections

Those firewall entries relate to remote administration of your modem and internet connection. The server URL is for motive.com who BT use for remote administration.

EDIT: I see that you have already posted your problem https://community.bt.com/t5/ADSL-Copper-Broadband-Speed/slower-Broadband-after-moving-home/td-p/1271...

and are being helped by a moderator. You would be better to wait for their assistance rather than double posting about the problem.

Re: Home Hub 5 and dropped connections

I had the same issue for 5 months, Two opreach visits they could fing no errors on my line. HH5 replaced even worse than current hub, so sent replacement back and used original hub. All this reduced my speed profile, in the end got fed up and went back to Openreach router and used HH5 as router. Result rock solid connection for over two weeks then a re- connection and profile has started to increase. Sorry but bt HH5 is not fit for purpose and BT should either admit the issue and fix with firmware update or remove it for sale!!
