Re: HomeHub 5 Stats

Yes, using an ethernet connection, John. Thanks for that.

My post was related to previous posts about very slow Infinity speeds in the late afternoon and early evening and another about line noise that I could hear with a quiet line test last Sunday.

An engineer called today and made checks in my house, the exchange and nearby cabinets. No problem found. He re-made connections in the cabinets as a precaution.

It was yourself, I recall, that mentioned the slow Infinity problem I described sounds like congestion. I asked the engineer if there is a congestion problem and he confirmed there is. He said it is with the "backhaul" (think you mentioned that, too).

He reckons that something will get done about increasing the capacity - eventually.

The more folk that buy Infinity and get a problem the more will be the complaints. Hopefully that will trigger improvements.

13 days ago I put a written complaint to BT about my low Infinity speeds. A BT engineer from Leicester phoned a short while ago in response to my letter. He knew about the Openreach engineer's visit this morning. He said that he does not think the problem is congestion causing my low speeds.
He has arranged for a broadband engineer to call on Wednesday (afternoon visit when the download speeds are dropping). I'll post the result of that visit. It may be of interest to someone.
I am glad that an interest is being taken in the problem.
