I had a Homehub 5 (Type A) turn in my letterbox yesterday, unannounced.
Soooo, I connected it up yesterday evening and it instantly synced up at 75/19.5 happy days.
However, I've just checked and the connection rebooted (CWMP) a couple of hours ago.
|Connection time:||0 days, 01:57:48|
What's going on? 😞
noise margin about normal or scope for improvement?
it looks like the small amount above normal can have a significant effect on your speed unlike adsl which 6.5db would be classified normal
Another day another reboot
|Connection time:||0 days, 10:19:23|
|5. VDSL uptime:||0 days, 10:18:45|
|6. Data rate:||19999 / 64829|
|7. Maximum data rate:||27428 / 77857|
|8. Noise margin:||7.5 / 6.5|
What is CWMP playing at?
Hrm, that looks like my figures from yesterday, in fact very similar:
|5. VDSL uptime:||0 days, 01:08:07|
|6. Data rate:||20000 / 66606|
|7. Maximum data rate:||22997 / 76998|
|8. Noise margin:||7.5 / 6.7|
|9. Line attenuation:||0.0 / 16.4|
....Are they up to something?
Had some nasty problems this morning too, now I have a 6.0 / 6.5 noise margin and a sync speed of 56Mbps
Well it's broken through the 1 day uptime limit. I wonder if I'll ever see full speed again? 😞
|5. VDSL uptime:||1 days, 07:51:05|
|6. Data rate:||19999 / 64975|
|7. Maximum data rate:||27571 / 77571|
|8. Noise margin:||7.9 / 6.5|
Your noise margin figures seem to fluctuate as much as mine.
However, there's still only 3 resets of connection in what is now 6 days. There was one reboot on day 2, which resulted in a defined date of software version install.
Similar reduction in down speed, but the upload speed is improving slowly - now at around 16.5, from 12 at the start.
I can imagine that a small change in noise margin (dB) will produce a larger change on download speed than ADSL2.
