Incredibly slow speeds at random times

Hi all,

I was wondering if any of you could help me.

I have 52mb fibre and have been consistently getting 48-50mb upload speeds for the last two months (since I got the package). But the last few days have been a nightmare with speeds. They drop down to such a slow rate that even a webpage won't load fully (I can't get on the wholesale speed tester when this happens). It doesn't seem to happen so much in the evenings, but during the day itself and it'll often start delivering speeds in the mid 40s during the late evening. I've tried speaking to bt directly but they have just sent out a new hub 6 which is suffering the same problem.

Any help would be really appreciated.. I only have so much hair left!

Thanks!

Re: Incredibly slow speeds at random times

Can you post stats from your hub if hh6 then advanced settings then technical log information
Can you run btspeedtester and when first test completes then run diagnostic test and post results must be done with Ethernet connection

Re: Incredibly slow speeds at random times

Thanks for your reply!

Tonight everything has repeated itself like clockwork with everything working fine up until about 6pm, where the internet is dropping out and then coming back in very briefly before cutting out again (dispite the blue light shining on).

I managed to run the speed test with varying results:

- When everything seemed to be working fine I had dl speeds of about 40mb and upload of about 5mb. After trying to run the diagnostics it said that I don't have FTTP to my address (which evidently isn't the case)

- In the intermittent stage when the internet keeps dropping and starting back up breifly, I had a result of 0mb dl and 0mb upload.

- Now whenever I try to run it I'm getting the error code #2032

Here is the technical log to hopefully shine some light on what it happening.

Re: Incredibly slow speeds at random times

The internet has come back again and I managed to run the diagnostics based on my number rather than address. However, this time it gave some ludicrous result of 353.84 Mbps dl speed. I've sanity checked it against other speed checkers and they're coming out at around 45mbps atm.... Help!

some browsers are giving false readings I suggest you try again using edge or Internet Explorer

Re: Incredibly slow speeds at random times

Thanks for the heads up! Edge is showing more accurate numbers (46.22 dl and 8.63 ul). Do you know what might be causing my issue?

Re: Incredibly slow speeds at random times

Had to conatct the Tech Dept. They said they would reset my connection and to see if it improves of the next few day.

Not sure what they did. Probably connected to the substation and reset their router. Has been back to norml since.

I used Sppedtest app on my mobile phone. That gives me a reasonably accurate reading. No browser interference.

Was running at 40meg down 8meg up for most of the day. Now at 12 and 7. They did say it would take 24hrs to settle back in.

Try www.speedtest.btwholesale.com that gives an accurate reading
