I recently had Infinity 2 installed and was told my line was running at 59% capacity. Someone nearby had his done the next day, he is further from the cabinet than me and was told he was running at 63% capacity. However, on the max line speed entry on the home Hub 5 mine is listed as 111mbps and his is listed at 117Mbps. I have an upstream attenuation of 0 and a downstream attenuation of 7.3. I hve tried to get an explanation from BT but have failed. Surely I should have a higher max speed as I am closer to the cabinet and running at a lower percentage? Do extensions running from the master socket make a difference even though they are supposed to be filtered out?
Can you post your line stats from the HH5 please? These are in Troubleshooting/Helpdesk on the web interface at http://192.168.1.254
Lines 1-13 will be enough
here are my stats as requested. Someone who lives near me but is further from the excahnge and was supposed to be using more of his line gets a max download data rate of 117,000

It's most likely that even though you could get a sync rate on FTTC (on your line condition and length) of 111.3mbps downstream and 35.7mbps upstream, FTTC is currently capped at around 80mbps downstream and 20mbps upstream.
As ray_dorset has said you are synced at the current max rate.
You also may find that as more customers are added to your cabinet your noise margin starts to reduce with your max data rate also reducing. As long as your connection stays at max 80/20 then you have best you can get
Thanks for the info all. I was just wondering why someone further from the cabnet than me and was told he was using more of his line's capacity than I am is showing a max data download rate of 117.8Mbps.
