Re: Infinity 2: Speeds drop heavy in evenings?

Go to solution

BT's speedtester only shows speeds within BT's network and while that speed tester will show if its your line having a problem it will not show an issue if its a problem with BT's network, which in this case it is.

Also when you use the link "check for broadband service problems in your area" at the top left of this section it reports i have no faults - even though my dialling code (01332) is listed under the area codes affected by the Liverpool node problem?? Smiley Frustrated

Yep,another night of shocking speeds and packet loss again. Got a TBB ping quality graph running and can see the packet loss crept is at just before 3pm and has continued all evening onwards.

Good speeds on the BT speed test again but all the others are barley running at 10% of my usual throughput. My level of interleaving also went up after last night episode as think the DLM sees errors, collisions and retries due to the problems with the general back bone and assumes it's the line misbehaving rather than further down the chain.

All comes when Which & Ofcom are discussing customers needing to be told guaranteed speeds for contract rather than the usual marketing "upto" we are used too.

Bah... tried the TBB Ping Quality but apparently i have a Dynamic IP and they don't support it 😕

Although at the moment here in Nuneaton (024) i'm still rocking 70+MB... although it went down hill around 7.30 yesterday so this may be a bit premature.

No packet loss as far as i can see but there is still time yet.
