Infinity 2 Troubles.

I've had Infinity 2 for a few years with no problem and a steady 78Mbs speed until about 6 weeks ago.

Then the problems started, orange flashing light on Hub (HH6) and reconnections.

Speed down to 60Mbs and more reconnections and a occasional solid orange light with no internet then no lights at all. Power on/off and it all comes back to life. Line tested and no fault found. Three weeks ago Openreach changed the Hub for a new one, sorted i thought.

This week solid orange light on on Tuesday evening, contacted BT (Stockport?) line tested ok,power on/off and away we go. This morning Blue light on Hub but no internet, checked BT Sport on Youview obviously nowt. Contacted BT (India) who done another line test and found no fault. we will send out a new Youview box tomorrow.

Checked speed tonight now down to 47Mbs.

Do you think a new Youview box will sort it or am I in this for the long haul?

Thanks

Re: Infinity 2 Troubles.

Hi @RJ414i,

How has your connection been performing since Thursday night? If the speeds haven't recovered please take a look at our help pages: Five steps to improve slow BT Broadband speeds & BT Broadband Speed Hub.

Let me know how you get on.

Thanks

Re: Infinity 2 Troubles.

Hi DanielS,

Thanks for getting in touch.

Openreach changed the Youview box on Friday.

Just looked at the Smart Hub Manager which is showing -

Downstream sync    49 Mbps

Upstream sync          17 Mbps

Network uptime       0 Days,  19 Hours,  17 Minutes

System uptime         0 Days,  19 Hours,  20 Minutes

Don't seem to get a long run without a reconnection.

Many Thanks

Re: Infinity 2 Troubles.

From the stats you have posted you are in a banded profile due to the number of disconnection you have had.  Until you can find the cause of the disconnection and fix it you connection will not improve. Even worse if disconnections continue there is every possibility your speed will reduce further - until you can get a stable connection

Re: Infinity 2 Troubles.

@RJ414i  Have you tried connecting the Hub directly to the test socket to see if that help with the disconnections?
