Infinity 2 - degrading Broadband upload connection speed

Go to solution

Hi, for the past year or so I've enjoyed down/up connection speeds of 50-70Mbps / 12Mbps but since early July my HH connection speeds are showing 50Mbps/2Mbps. The major concern is the huge drop in uplink connection speed - spoke with BT Consumer Customer Service and they say no guarantees are offered on the uplink speed and therefore no fault can be raised, this is despite them acknowledging the upload speed was significantly higher in previous months.

I've done a re-start on HH, nearly 5 days later no sign of improvement. Config summary below, any ideas please? Seems to show I have the potential for 12 Mbps uplink but it's not training the speed up from what I can see.

hi - can anyone explain why I'm getting 2Mbps uplink speed on a circuit that shows potential for 12Mbps?

Re: Infinity 2 - degrading Broadband upload connection speed

@RichBHit It looks like the upload profile may be banded to 2Mb. Please use the 'click here to contact the mods' link in my forum profile to send in your details and we'll be happy to get that looked into. You can find the link by clicking on my username.

Thanks

Neil

Re: Infinity 2 - degrading Broadband upload connection speed

Hi John, thanks for the help.

It did temporarily increase the upload connection speed to 10mbps from early yesterday however as of 1700 BST today the network connection was re-set and connection speeds are back down to 47Mbps down/2Mbps up.

I could wait to see if it trains up over the next few days but I'm not hopeful.

It's like there is an auto policy being applied that is limiting and policing my speeds - details below from latest log. Strange that my uplink speed is higher than the indicated max rates.

Hi @RichBHit thanks for posting that update.

Please can you complete a speed test  for me using an Ethernet cable – once you have completed the speed test, please select the further diagnostic button to send your results over via our server and post back and let me know when you have completed it.

Cheers
John
