Infinity Getting 0.10MBS download and 11.5MBS upload for 16 hours now

For the last 16 hours, my download speed has not topped 0.10 MBS, my upload speed oddly seems to be okay at 11.5MBS. I normally get 70MBS on download speed testers.

 

My exhange is MYSAN My postcode is WF4 3BS

 

Help!!

 

I have reset the router several times with no luck. This has been virtually unuable for a day. A call to BT proved useless as they didnt seem to have a clue.

Do you have a Homehub 5 ?

Nope It says BT Home Hub 3.0B Not had any issues in maybe 1.5 years until the last few days.

Can you post your IP Profile by running the BT Performance test at www.speedtest.btwholesale.com please? When the first test has finished, press the Further Diagnostics button then after you enter your phone number, your IP Profile should be displayed.

 Download speedachieved during the test was - 1.09 Mbps

 For your connection, the acceptable range of speedsis 60 Mbps-77.34 Mbps .

 Additional Information:  IP Profile for your line is - 77.34 Mbps    

 

Upload speed achieved during the test was - 13.63Mbps

 Additional Information:  Upstream Rate IP profile on your line is - 20 Mbp

Well, that looks ok, so I don't think there's a line fault.

 

In order to rule out the Homehub as potentially being the device responsible for your speed loss, you can connect the Openreach modem directly to the PC and see if the speed improves.

To do that follow these steps:

Step 1: Remove the homehub from the modem cable

Step2: Connect your pc/laptop to the modem via the cable instead

Step3: Open network and sharing centre on windows and click set up a new connection or network

Step4: Connect to the internet then click make a new connection Broadband PPPoE

Step5: Username bthomehub@btbroadband.com and the password as BT

Step6: connect, If it doesn't,keep pressing try again until it does.


However, please note that this will stop any other access apart from the PC

Have you checked to see if there are any BT Service problems

I will try that, however i have since found out several neighbours have the exact same issue, download speeds of 1mb or less and normal upload speeds.

 

A few of us have called BT to no avail

 

Thanks for the above link, it just states "you have no faults" haha really?

I plugged my laptop inot the modem directly, i get the same 0.10mbs download and 12mb upload speeds.

If your neighbours are having the same problems I would not be doing anything with my equipment, I would be getting back onto BT and reporting the issue to them and inform them about your neighbours having the same problem.

 

I would also get the neighbours to contact BT and report the same thing.
