Infinity issue - websites will not load!!

Hello

I have had an issue since sunday 27th April. I cannot load any websites whatsoever. I have tried from two different laptops, ipods, and iphones all with same issue. I have reset homehub4 to factory defaults. reloaded hub and openreach box, done netsh int ip reset, netsh winsock reload catalog, changed DNS to public DNS servers, everything to no avail.

BT say everything looks fine. My laptop says i'm coneccted to the internet, and I can even ping websites. One thing i have noticed though is i cannot tracert to any, as it doesnt get past the first hop (hub).

I can't think of anything else to try except cancel BT and go back to Sky...

Any help would be great as BT are denying anything is wrong.

Also tried both wireless and on the wire...

Thanks

Matt

Re: Infinity issue - websites will not load!!

Try a direct connection to the modem .

Step 1: Remove the homehub from the modem

Step2: Connect your pc/laptop into the modem using LAN1 port (LAN2 is disabled and not in use)

Step3: Open network and sharing centre on windows and click set up a new connection or network

Step4:  Connect to the internet (the top option) then click make a new connection Broadband PPPoE

Step5:  Username Internet@btbroadband.com and the password as broadband

Step6: connect, for some reason it may say that it cannot connect, just keep pressing try again if this happens and it will eventually connect.

Re: Infinity issue - websites will not load!!

I just did what was suggested, do you get a DHCP address when connected directly to white modem? What should gateway be?

thanks

Re: Infinity issue - websites will not load!!

The gateway is assigned by DHCP as are the DNS servers and the IP address. Did you hard-code these?

Re: Infinity issue - websites will not load!!

Well, wasn't sure if the openreach box gave out DHCP addresses? Thought that was what the home hub was meant to do?

Didnt hard code anything, and got DNS servers etc. Could ping out, as in the output...

That output was from when directly connected to the white openreach box...

Will try again, and try with DHCP.
